The man behind UYMI - United Youth of Modern India

About Dr. Nishant Mehta

We all nurture a passion but very few translate it into action. A passion left unanswered results in a dry life; an act driven by passion can transform lives. This defines the journey of Dr.Nishant Mehta and the dream he nurtures.

This young man is putting all the efforts he could through his skills, talent, and hard work to bring back something that we all have lost within us : Humanity. Running an initiative named, United Youth of Modern India; He comes up with amazing inspirational stories to change the mindset of people.

An anchor to hold and a promise to help; Nishant is unequivocally injecting a true sense of value into his profession as a doctor to positively impact society and those within it who are less fortunate.

We all have heard this saying “What goes around, comes around..” Yes, this is exactly what drives this young doctor. Nishant believes that we are connected to each other by a bond of humanity that has to be nurtured within us and as being citizens of the privileged society; we have a moral responsibility towards all the needy and poor people of our country. He feels that every one of us must give back to the society in any way possible, be it voluntary or monetary services. He says that if we go into the shunned areas and have a first-hand experience of the lives the dwellers lead, we’ll know how valuable our lives are.

Early life

Dr.Nishant Mehta was born on the 12th July 1992 in Palampur, a green hill station in the Kangra valley situated at Himachal Pradesh. He is the son of Dr.Naresh Mehta,Ex.Joint Director General Health of Himachal Pradesh. Being the son of a noble profession doctor, from the very beginning Nishant learned the virtues of kindness and generosity from his father who always believes in helping the needy. Whether it is by providing free medicines to poor patients or by paying their treatment bills; Nishant’s father has set an ideal hallmark of sympathy and support in his heart. This inspired him to become a Doctor and thus, continue this legacy of nobility.

He was brought up in Paprola of district Kangra,H.P. He attended his early education at a convent; Mount Carmel School, Baijnath and completed his high school at Lawrence Public School, Chandigarh. He has attained the degree of Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of surgery (MBBS) from the well reputed Sri Guru Ram Rai Institute of Medical and Health Sciences, Dehradun.

Since childhood, Nishant was a sensitive child. His empathy for all those less privileged than him could be seen in his acts. He displayed sensitivity towards differences and cooperated by helping.

At the mere age of 13, Nishant took the initiative of collecting funds for the Global Cancer Concern and donated large sums of collection for it.  He actively participated by contributing fairly at all charity events that took place around him. Nishant is driven by the saying “What goes around, Comes around..” It is a cycle of Karma. You throw stones, you get stones in return. You shed humanity and you get humanity in return. Investing money in the temples is no big effort, but giving the same hard earned money to someone on the street requires a big heart. God may not see your efforts in the temples, but he notices your actions taken to save his creativity. Humanity is one of the most beautiful creations by god and Nishant understands this very well. He believes that we waste our lives on things we think will buy us happiness, until we realize the only way to buy happiness is to give happiness.

Hobbies

For Nishant, driving cars and riding bikes is more than a passion. His unconditional fervor for wheels, gadgets and big boy toys is nonpareil. It’s his way of living which gives him vigor. He embraces his luxury and enjoys life king size. His indoor interests include billiards, table tennis and playstation games. Nishant takes immense pleasure in playing musical instruments. Besides, during his leisure he skillfully strums a few chords on his acoustic guitar that he is really fond of. In addition, he has a great sense of humor and is tremendously keen in interacting with people, socializing over new ideas and creative opportunities.

At a personal end, during weekends Nishant humbly enjoys a good supper with his family and friends.
